Christmas Specials from Figaro

As a child I was always excited when September comes around because December can’t be far behind. December has always been my favorite time of the year. It is something that I want to pass on to my kids. The excitement of Christmas and food that comes with the season. This is really a great gift for any one rather than buying  boys gifts on sale

I am really going to have a Fruit Cake, Red Velvet Cake, Peppermint Brownie, Butterscotch Bar, Pistachio Biscotti, Gingerbread Cookie and Christmas Tree Cookie  which now available at Figaro anytime any day of the week.

Red Velvet Cake of Figaro is an elegant cake which is moist and delicious with a wonderful chocolate taste with heavenly creamy rich frosting to bring that Christmas spirit. The red color made me remember the colors of Christmas plus the chocolate dream taste. It’s a festive visual and gustatory delight garnished with nuts on the side.

Peppermint Brownie (white with sprinkles)  is  a chewy and fudgy brownie topped with mint-flavored frosting and finished with a white chocolate glaze and candy confetti sprinkles. Butterscotch Bar is perfect and  delectable ending of a Gourmet Meal at Figaro. It is made of sugar, butter and cream, caramelized and finished with a shiny chocolate glazed and topped with nuts.

Figaro’s Fruit Cake, a chocolate-based cake full of fruit and nuts lazed with alcohol (brandy) oozing  with white chocolate royal icing and glazed fruits. It isn’t the hard regular fruit cake we all love to pass on to friends because it’s really moist and chewy. What’s best about this is the less alcohol content which more kids will really appreciate.

Gingerbread Cookie, a biscuit made of soft dough, butter and sugar frosted with special royal icing and candy confetti sprinkles. Less on the ginger spice yet soft enough to enjoy any time of the day. It’s really a perfect perk-up on those gloomy rainy days matched with a perfect cup of hot coffee at Figaro

Pistachio Biscotti.  This crisp and crunchy double baked cookie are dressed for the holidays with crushed green pistachio dipped both ends into white chocolate.

While you are at it why not try their new drinks..

Banana Berry Delight Frost, a double, fruity and refreshing mix of strawberry and bananas with a scoop of vanilla ice cream

Raspberry Mint Latte  a hot cup of espresso-based coffee experience mixed with raspberry flavors and a slight hint of mint to satisfy and entice your senses of sweetness with freshness, just the right whip of flavors to cope with the crazy rain and shine weather these days.

Clear as Crystal: Crystal Clear is No.1

Water is our lifeline that bathes us and feeds us. In ancient cultures water represented the very essence of life. The Romans were the first to pipe water into their growing cities, especially with their aqueducts. They also realized that sewage water could cause damage to their people, and needed to be removed from large areas of people.

Water has played a role not only in the history of countries, but in religion, mythology, and art. Water in many religions cleanses the soul through holy water. For example, the water at Lourdes, France is thought by many religions to be sacred water with healing powers. In Egyptian mythology, the Nu was the beginning of everything and represented water. It brought life to their people, but in drought, produced chaos. Water has always been perceived as a gift from the gods as it rained from the heavens. Continue reading »

A Match Made in Gastronomic Heaven

When you say Jam the first thing that comes to mind is Strawberry Jam and Marmalade. Something that I associate with a nice and yummy breakfast. When it comes to Snacks I love UBE Jams that can be bought from Good Shepperd or Tamtangco’s.

I was happy to be able to be proven wrong that Jam is so much more. It can be used to create a masterpiece dish. The Fruit Garden together with L’Entrecote Chef Matin Kaspar really changed my notion. They presented a meal incorporating jams and chutneys in all the dishes showing us how versatile jams can be. I totally loved what they served and  it was a great surprise. To tell you honestly  this was the closest I can get to gastronomy. Continue reading »

Long perceived as the Mecca of culture, splendor and sophistication, French fashion, cuisine and lifestyles have become the standard for everything haute.
