Procter & Gamble and Robinsons Supermarket Join Forces with Mothers to Further Strengthen Their Advocacy of Wellnes

What happens when mothers come together to celebrate their personal advocacy of wellness? A Wellness Moms Movement emerges- a movement of change by mothers rallying as one for a better and healthier lifestyle.

?Celebrity mothers and special guests were present during the official launch of Wellness Moms by Procter & Gamble and Robinsons Supermarket held recently at Marco Polo Ortigas, where different aspects of motherhood—Baby, Family/Household, and Personal Wellness—were openly discussed by celebrity mom guests Denise Laurel, Nikka Martinez-Garcia, and host Issa Litton during the talk show that highlighted as well P&G’s own wellness products and how they fit into one’s life.

?For example, Mom’s son returns home after playing outside, washing his hands with Safeguard for 99.9% germ protection before eating dinner. After mealtime, Mom can now easily wash away the grease of the dirty dishes with Joy Antibac, as well as any stains on her son’s clothes with Ariel Power Gel. Night time arrives and her baby daughter needs to sleep, so Mom soothes baby with Vicks Baby Rub, putting on her Pampers for a dry, peaceful sleep, covering her in a soft, comfy blankie, thanks to Downy Baby Gentle. These wellness products and their home benefits were presented in the Mealtime Tips and Bedtime Tips Wellness videos released online.

?Moms shared their personal tips and bytes of advice to one another, talking about how Wellness Mom products have helped make their life at home an easier, safer, healthier and happier one. Also, to further showcase the unity of this movement, a special Moms for Wellness mosaic wall made up of photos of different moms around the country was also revealed.

?Aside from P&G, Robinsons Supermarket, who has always supported the wellness movement, has proven that two is better than one when it comes to progress and change. This mutual undertaking paved the way for a solid partnership, which was also officially revealed last Thursday through the Wellness Moms promo! From now on, whenever one buys three of the participating Wellness Moms products (Safeguard, Joy Antibac, Ariel Power Gel, Downy Baby Gentle, Oral-B, Pampers, or Vicks Baby Rub) at any Robinsons Supermarket, he/she will instantly receive Robinsons Supermarket GC’s worth 50 pesos!

?The media launch of the new Wellness Moms movement was not only an informative event, but also a fun gathering of moms who only want what’s best for their families. With games, new knowledge, and special P&G and Robinsons Supermarket giveaways, moms made their way home with an extra push of encouragement and motivation to continue living the Wellness Moms life.

Last minute Christmas shopping tips

Image result for midea philippines

No matter how prepared people are with their shopping list, being caught in the Christmas rush is quite inevitable. People usually have very long lists of items that need to be ticked off and obviously only very little time to do all the shopping because doing it after work only gives just a few hours of mall time.  Also, thinking of what to give to relatives and friends could pose a challenge, because of their varied tastes. To avoid giving similar gifts from the past year, even giving the same thing all over again is one of the most challenging tasks while coming down on one’s list too.

Mr Kabab Fisher Mall

They first started with only one branch (West Ave) which is an open air restaurant and now have several branches around the metro. Love the place, the ambience, the design, the interiors and even the floor tiles. Love it! The place was big and spacious.  My friends and I tried the branch in Fishermall

Appetizer Platter (P420.00) which consists of spinach with egg, eggplant with whey sauce, eggplant with egg, etc. (Choose any 4 appetizer) served with pita bread.

Couscous’ (P120.00) –  This salad bears some resemblance to tabbouleh, but it’s heavier on the grains and has even more fresh vegetables. Tomatoes, olives and fresh coriander are so refreshing.

Shorba’ (P120.00) – Chunky Tarragon infused vegetable soup served with an egg.

Shrimp Korma’ (P200.00) – a dish of mildly spiced meat or seafood marinated or braised in yogurt or curds, cream, nut or seed paste.

Beef Chelo Kabab’ served with ‘Biryani Rice’ (P170.00) – The classic and popular favorite.

Bhaglava’ or ‘Bhaklava’= This a rich, sweet pastry made of layers of filo filled with chopped nuts and sweetened and held together with syrup or honey.
The food, hmm, don’t get me started with the food. The food was yum-mazing!! Expect lots of flavor in their dishes. From their hummus to kabab. We tried the staples are the keema (with and without eggplant, shish kabab sandwich, and beef kabab. It feels like your in a different country. They put a butter beside or on top the rice and it’s up to you to mix it with the rice. Rice itself tasted so good and smells so good mixed with the butter. The kabab tasted good with its garlic sauce on top. I really liked how the liver dish tasted. I also love their tahini and hummus (yum!). The food was very satisfying.

They usually have a lot of servers in their branches. Attendants were attentive and the food are delivered to your table quickly Great service. The servers were very accommodating and patient with us, even the manager herself.

Mr. Kabab branches and operating hours:

31 West Avenue, Del Monte, Q. C. (open 24 hours)

2nd floor Fisher Mall, Del Monte, Q.C. (open during mall hours)

2nd floor Pearl Plaza, Pearl Drive, Ortigas, Pasig City (10am to 12mn)

The taste of their dishes will definitely give your money’s worth. Prices range from 100-300pesos only. If you are a rice person, you might be surprised of the price of a cup. Haha. Better enjoy your food with their pita instead. Which I think is better paired with any middle easter food.

Millennials at Work

Even if you haven’t heard the term “millennial”, there’s a strong chance you are one or you know a person – belonging to the group of people born between 1980–2000. By 2020, one in three adults around the globe will be millennials, forming half the workforce, with 60% of them living in Asia.

If you are indeed a millennial, you’re a member of an influential generation, set to have more spending power than any generation that has come before. You are also at the forefront of workplace changes: seeking more choice, mobility, and work-life balance. While these may seem impressive, there are downsides, notably as employees are spending more time in the office than ever, making it more challenging to maintain health.

Julian Alvarez Garcia, M.D., Ph.D., a member of the Herbalife Nutrition Advisory Board, visited Manila for the Asia Pacific Wellness Tour last October. Julian Alvarez Garcia, M.D., Ph.D.also  shared expert advice on how millennials can adopt simple positive nutrition and lifestyle habits at work to improve their overall well-being in the long run..

Heerbalife Nutrition, a global nutrition company, recently released findings from its Asia Pacific Millennials At Work Survey, showing that younger workers in Asia want to do more physical exercise while working, but they are finding it difficult to achieve this in the modern workplace.
“Through these efforts, we hope to equip organizations and employees with the right tools to collectively build a healthier work environment across Asia Pacific”

With the millennial generation expected to make up 50 percent of the global workforce by 2020, ensuring the well-being of millennials will be important to improving workplace productivity. According to the survey, about 66 percent of Asian millennials, those born between 1980 and 2000, get less than 30 minutes of daily physical activity at their workplace which includes standing, stretching and walking. Additionally, 71 percent said they would become more active if it is part of their company’s corporate culture.

“While most millennials want to lead healthy lives, they face real obstacles at work,” said Frank Lamberti, Herbalife senior vice president and managing director, North Asia. “At Herbalife Nutrition, we provide employees our nutrition products at work, subsidize gym memberships, hold regular wellness programs related to nutrition and well-being and encourage participation in outdoor activities and sports competitions.”

7 in 10 millennials strive to live healthy, active lives, compared to 6 in 10 for the older generation

However, the majority of millennials find it challenging to maintain an active lifestyle at work – 9 in 10 millennials spend 6 to 13 hours at their work desk each day, and 66 percent of millennials (compared to 59 percent of the older generation) get less than 30 minutes of physical activity – including standing, stretching and walking at work on an average work day

Additionally, 56 percent of them cited the “lack of time” as the key obstacle to engaging in physical activity at work

To provide tips on how millennials and their employers can integrate positive nutrition and life style habits at their workplaces, Herbalife Nutrition has organized a sixth Asia Pacific Wellness Tour. Five experts from the Herbalife Nutrition Advisory Board (NAB) are scheduled to tour 21 Asian cities to appear at talks, workshops and medical symposiums from October 7 to 30. The last five tours welcomed over 100,000 participants.

“Through these efforts, we hope to equip organizations and employees with the right tools to collectively build a healthier work environment across Asia Pacific,” said Stephen Conchie, senior vice president and managing director, Southeast Asia, Herbalife.

In fact, 8 in 10  millennials spend more than six hours at their work desk each day, and nearly three-quarter of them typically get less than 30 minutes of physical activity at work in a day. This is in spite of 6 in 10 of  millennials saying they strive to live a healthy, active life, and having a strong understanding of the health risks that can arise from sedentary lifestyles, including weight gain, poor digestive health and stress.

Clearly, there is a great room for improvement in the workplace, and employers can play a pivotal role in achieving this, i.e. through setting the right tone and helping employees achieve healthy, active lives.

This can be especially effective in the Asia Pacific region, where workers tend to be more open to workplace changes, and Herbalife’s survey showed that 66% of Malaysian millennials would be more encouraged to stay active if this was part of their company’s culture.

Each of these events will see the Herbalife NAB members sharing their views on a range of health-related topics, including weight management, brain health and aging, metabolism, sports medicine, sports science and nutrition. The Herbalife NAB members will also be sharing expert advice on how millennials can adopt simple positive nutrition and lifestyle habits at work to improve their overall well-being in the long run.

Each client’s unique blood profile is used as the basis for an individualized eating plan that recommends the personalized quantities of specific types of food that correct the hormonal imbalance that causes weight gain and obesity.

The program works like a prescription. It only “prescribes” food tested at the precise personalized quantity based on the biochemistry of your body to allow the body to do what it is naturally designed to do which is to burn fat. The food prescribed is easily available in the local supermarkets and is most likely already in your kitchen. Through this, there is no need for costly and unsafe procedures, such as injections or pills. Cohen’s Lifestyle Program delivers fast results, with clients averaging a loss of up to eight to 10 lbs. a month.

“The Cohen Program has a track record of success in delivering rapid weight loss using only food as medicine. We provide a safe, effective and scientific method of achieving a slimmer and healthier body, where all other methods may have failed,” said Barbara Young, Cohen’s Lifestyle Centre CEO and a certified life coach. “Cohen’s Lifestyle Program takes a holistic approach to losing weight. We don’t just guide you in losing weight but we also teach a healthier lifestyle, including cooking and eating habits and the way you look at food. With the Cohen Cook-Off Challenge, we hope to inspire more people to take charge of their own health by getting involved in the preparation of their own food.”
